Colors of renewal
The Renewal Palette
When times are good, “out with the old, in with the new” would seem to be the prevailing philosophy. In today’s challenging economic times, however, design professionals, contractors and consumers often face the reality of working with what’s already there to revive and reinvent spaces.
Following this guiding principle, Kelly-Moore Paint Company Inc. has launched a color-collection card of 30 new paint color schemes called The Renewal Palette. It features “focus” colors grouped within seven different color “families” representing escapism, nostalgia and fantasy—ideas crucial to well-being—and are designed to inspire homeowners to create their own personal sanctuary.
The color palette also reflects the company’s interpretation of color and design trends for 2011 and 2012, while coordinating with existing colors in the home, according to Kelly-Moore Paint.
The company says each color family presents numerous design possibilities, based on recommended combinations. The color families, “focal colors” and suggested combinations include blue-grays, peacock, greens, yellow, orange, purple and neutral.
